We've been to Gatlinburg several times and knew we wanted something in the mountains as opposed to a hotel. If you don't mind a 2-mile drive UP the mountain, this is a great place to stay! Although there aren't any great mountain views from this chalet, there is a beautiful creek that runs through the front yard and it is truly nestled in the mountains. We were actually greeted by a mother&2 baby cubs within a few minutes of our arrival. If cleanliness&spaciousness are important to you - THIS is the place to stay!! The gas fireplace is great&the hot tub was fun for everyone. There are 2 large master bedrooms upstairs so it would be perfect for 2 couples with children. There is a futon in the game room&a day bed with a trundall in one of the masters. The 2.5 bathrooms were perfect for us and our girls. There were plenty of board games to play&the back deck was a nice place to hang out. We didn't have any problems during our stay&everything worked perfectly. It is a pet friendly chalet but certainly doesn't look or smell that way. You would never know an animal has ever been in this chalet so if you are bringing one you should also be courteous and leave it nice&clean. If you've never stayed on ski mountain - there is a grocery store located on the mountain that will deliver!! Volunteer pizze is located at the Cabins USA office&is the best pizza I've ever had. I don't think you will have any complaints if you chose this chalet so rest assured you are getting a great place!!
