My family and I stayed at the Marsh Mermaid during my nieces wedding in June and was very pleasantly surprised with the house. As I'm sure you know, you can't always tell by the photo's if a rental property will be anything like what you see in the pictures, and happily, the Marsh Mermaid was everything and more. It was beautifully furnished, clean and smelled nice. We didn't have our dog with us, but if we did bring him, there was a small yard for him to stay in. Each bedroom had it's own bath and for my kids it was perfect. Location was good, we sat on the back deck before we left and watched a storm roll in over the marsh and the next morning watched the sun rise over the marsh. It's a very quiet area with quiet neighbors. You drive through a rough part of the neighborhood to get there, but no worries, the locals were nice and rode their bicycles or was out jogging. The next time we go to Tybee for anything,we will see if we can rent this property again. We have already suggested it to friends. The rental company was nice professional people who made renting the house easy and emailed everything to me in a timely manner. Our stay was wonderful. So, if you are looking for a nice family house close to the ocean without all the traffic, I highly recommend the Marsh Mermaid.
