We spent Pirate Fest weekend on Tybee with my daughter and 2 younggrandsons. The Crabby Pirate was perfect for our needs. While we didn'timmerse ourselves fully in the pirate festivities, we did attend the parade,which was great (except for the deluge of rain!) and went to see thefireworks (extremely short display!) on the balmy beautiful beach.Our favorite activity was going to the beach! We were lucky with the warmweather and enjoyed a perfect beach day on the vast uncrowded northbeach. We went back to see the sunrise and collect shells the next day.Paradise!The location was great for our needs; close to the beach, beautiful marshviews, quick to the main drag. The helpers at Mermaid were helpful andaccessible; the island folk friendly and welcoming.Our big meal out was at the Crab Shack--great food and casualatmosphere. The kids loved seeing and feeding the alligators! We alsoenjoyed having meals at "home" in the cottage where the kitchen hadeverything we needed and the living room was comfy and well-equippedwith TV, DVD player, ample seating, etc. The laundry room was a plus withthose two little boys!We look forward to coming back soon!
