My mom and I went to Tybee Island for our joint birthday celebration, and we loved everything about it! It was as if we had been transported back to Key West or the Florida Coast, pre-Disney! Wonderful little cottages, and we adored Caretta Cottage. It was perfect for the two of us...close to the beach and the main road, but on a quiet street. The cottage was absolutely spotless, with a wonderful bathroom and fabulous kitchen. Mermaid Rentals is the best. They helped my cousin deliver surprise birthday balloons, and they checked with us to make sure that we had everything that we needed.One more thing, we loved that Savannah was 10 minutes away. We visited Savannah in the morning or went there for dinner, and they returned to our little oasis, Caretta Cottage. Also, make sure that you get breakfast at the Breakfast Club on Tybee, well worth the wait.Only one thing could have made this vacation better - if I owned Caretta Cottage. However, we will be back next May to enjoy it once again!
