For over a decade, my husband and I have been coming to Tybee for itsnatural beauty and pace of life. The people we meet (time and again) aregenuinely charming. The homes we've rented have been ideal. This year, we stayed at Island Retreat as repeat customers of TybeeVacation Rentals; our experience far surpassed our expectations. Everypractical convenience was made available to us. And the home was trulylovely. As the mother of a three year old (who has not completely lost her lust forluxury), the apartment was a perfect combination of home-style amenitiesand aesthetic details. Comfortable beds, tasteful art, equipped kitchen, children's movies, cozy patio, gorgeous landscape, extra towels andlinens... I didn't use the flat screen T.V. in the master bedroom but Icherished the stacked washer and dryer in the walk-in closet. The onlything I enjoyed more than our lodgings was the beach itself. The beach is why we come. If I try to describe it, you might imagine anyother beach in the world. But given the chance to sit across from LittleTybee at sunset, before the sky erupts under pressure from a passingstorm, you will certainly understand why my family and I drive 745 miles tobe restored by the Island's magic.Take my advise: eat at Sundae Cafe, drink at Huckapoo's, trust TVR andabove all, look around. Tybee Island is, most likely, the very treasure itself, that Captain Flint has made so famous.
